An Injured Soldiers View Of Islamophobia

This was posted a while back on Facebook and we think it bears reposting.

We've redacted his details in this post out of respect, just in case, but we've seen versions where he's been named.

Incidentally, this writer also served in conflicts where both the enemy and the local population were muslim, in Iraq and Afghanistan. I shot at, and was shot at by, muslim radical elements. As a local liaison officer with 40 words of basic Urdu and a little of Arabic, I received nothing but gracious hospitality from local tribal leaders and ordinary muslim traders, farmers and shopkeepers. My own shoulder wound was treated by a muslic medic.

Read this, you'll like it, we think. It's rather good.
