Best Comment On Modern Journalism, Ever

In the aftermath of Piers Morgan's embarrassing, fawning 'interview' with Trump this week, various social media threads were born around a discussion on journalism and ethics.

Obviously once 'ethics' came into the picture, all talk of slimy Morgan was set aside.

But there is a real problem with current journalism chasing 'clicks' online with scurrilous, false stories designed to please the accountants rather than the seekers of truth, and other stories aimed to stroke their readers who already already in a one-opinion echo chamber.

But then we came across this, which nailed it.
My fave tutor at uni had a great journalism 101 lesson: “If someone says it’s raining & another person says it’s dry, it’s not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out of the f**king window and find out which is true.”

Oh, for the days of John Pilger, who sought truth whether his proprietor liked it or not.
