Brexit Party's Lance 'Fishmonger' Forman Echoes Nazi Policy on Academics

One of the early signs that the Nazis in Germany were not just 'Populists' but actually highly dangerous Fascists, was when they opened the first Concentration Camps in 1933. Not for Jews, but for Socialists, Communists, Social Democrats, Roma, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexualH, and other persons accused of 'asocial' or socially 'deviant' behavior.

Among them were a lot of academics and scholars. The Far Right hate anyone more intelligent and erudite than them, which is most people. Although the Nazi period, those involved in Education were targeted unless they spouted the Party Gospel.

Then began the book-burning. On April 8, 1933, the Main Office for Press and Propaganda of the German Student Union proclaimed a nationwide "Action against the Un-German Spirit", which was to climax in a literary purge or "cleansing" ("Säuberung") by fire.

The books targeted for burning were those viewed as being subversive or as representing ideologies opposed to Nazism as well as instilling fear into people around.

It seems that the Brexit Party's Lance Forman, the fishmonger MEP, wants to bring that back ...

"Rooting out 'Leftist' Culture' ?? Sounds very 1933 to us.

So bravo, Lance. You couldn't have exposed your Party's roots better if you'd tried.
