Tories Give Blessing To MP At Euro Far Right Love-In

Last week I posted a 'heads-up' on Tory MP Daniel Kawczynski showing - for all to see, as if needed demonstrating - his Far Right sympathies.

He'll be sharing a stage in Italy with Neo-Fascist Salvini, Orban, Legutko, Tertsch & Marion Marechal Le Pen.
And today Buzzfeed's Alex Wickham, is reporting live on that Conference - a gathering of the Hardest Right Wing characters across Europe ...
He has just backed far-right leaders Viktor Orban and Matteo Salvini by name, saying they "represent serious ideas and concerns, some of which are shared by many citizens of the UK.
Kawczynski said last week that he would meet with whips before deciding whether to attend... he has attended... so assume that means he was given permission... Tories not saying anything at the moment.
The Jewish Labour Movement has written to Tory chief whip Mark Spencer calling on him to suspend the whip.
Instantly, and correctly, the Jewish Board of Deputies has demanded that the whip be withdrawn from him - except that his trip seems to have the blessing of the Party.

Their letter in full :

Orban is as close to a genuine Fascist as it's possible to be in Europe : Eradication of Free Media, Control of Judges for their Political Loyalty, etc. Ticks most of the boxes.

Salvini's Lega's roots are in LegaNord, a Northern Italian Fascist Group who still celebrate Mussolini.

Also there, and supported by Kawczynski is Marion Marechal Le Pen, the latest scion of the Hard Right family started by her grandfather. Their Right's latest blonde 'darling' Racist.

A reminder that Kawczynski is the master of the double standard : He has spent a decade livid that the EU 'interfere in our democracy' while last year he popped over to Poland to demand they, er, interfere in our democracy.

And he of course is a personal beneficiary of that 'Freedom of Movement' he so hates.

Post Script

In the aftermath, it becomes clear that even the Tories took a dim view of this conference, releasing this statement - but only after the matter came to public attention and condemnation - as reported by Zelo Street ...
Daniel Kawczynski has been formally warned that his attendance at this event was not acceptable, particularly in light of the views of some of those in attendance, which we utterly condemn, and that he is expected to hold himself to higher standards. Daniel has accepted this and apologised.
So ... Kawczynski has kept the whip, for his partying and palling around with Neo-Fascists, the same whip which was withdrawn from a large number of Tory MPs simply for having a differing view on Brexit.

Or, as Zelo went on to comment ...
The message being sent out by The Blue Team is that rubbing shoulders with racists and anti-Semites is not as bad as disagreeing with your party leader.
